Story Contact(s):
Christian Basi, BasiC@missouri.edu, 573-882-4430

WHAT:  A “Suit Drive” hosted by the Business Career Services Office at the University of Missouri Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business.

MU students at the Trulaske College of Business will have the opportunity to buy donated suits at garage sale prices. The suit drive will give business students access to affordable, professional outfits they can wear to upcoming business events.

WHY:  All proceeds will benefit the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri’s “Buddy Pack Program.” Elementary students who do not have enough to eat at home receive a backpack full of kid-friendly snacks each week. Learn more about the program at http://sharefoodbringhope.org.

WHEN:  10 a.m. to 3 p.m, Wednesday, Sept. 7

WHERE:  105 Cornell Hall
                  Trulaske College of Business, MU Campus

NOTE:  More than 200 students attended the first suit drive hosted by the Business Career Services Office earlier this year. Proceeds from the fundraiser totaled nearly $4,000 for the Buddy Pack Program. Community members donated more than 500 suits and other professional clothing items. Approximately 60 community businesses are sponsoring the event, including Robinson’s Cleaners, which dry cleaned every clothing item for free.
