MEDIA ADVISORY: Graduating Seniors to Walk Through Columns During MU’s Senior Sendoff

WHAT:  As freshmen, MU students enter the university by walking through the columns toward Jesse Hall in a ceremony called Tiger Walk. Four years later, many will walk back through the columns, signifying the completion of their college careers and their entrance into the Mizzou alumni family.

Participating seniors will meet at 4 p.m. on Carnahan Quadrangle and walk north as a group toward the columns on Francis Quadrangle. The public, MU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to line Francis Quadrangle as graduating seniors pass through the columns walking toward the city of Columbia. 

WHO:  Senior Sendoff is sponsored by the Mizzou Alumni Association to celebrate MU’s 2011 graduating class. The event is coordinated by the Alumni Association Student Board.

NOTE:  Originally planned for Wednesday, May 4, Senior Send-off was moved to Friday, May 6 due to changes in the academic calendar.
