MEDIA ADVISORY: ‘Cosmic Conversations’ Event to Include Sneak Preview Screening of ‘Particle Fever’

WHAT : The MU Department of Physics and Astronomy will continue its monthly lecture series with a sneak preview of the documentary “Particle Fever,” which is scheduled to open May 9. The film chronicles the launch of the Large Hadron Collider through the perspectives of six scientists involved in the creation of the largest and most expensive experiment in history.
After the screening, a panel of MU scientists will answer questions about the scientific concepts presented. Panel members include Angela Speck, professor of astrophysics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at MU; Deborah Hanuscin, associate professor of science education and physics; and Harrison Knoll, a doctoral student in Physics & Astronomy.
