MEDIA ADVISORY: “How ‘Eastern’ is ‘Western’ Science?” to be Discussed at MU Saturday Morning Science Lecture

WHAT: This week’s Saturday Morning Science discussion at the University of Missouri features history professor Mark Smith, who will discuss “How ‘Eastern’ is ‘Western’ Science?”

Smith will blur the traditional lines between East and West by discussing how much of what we consider ‘Western’ science came from great thinkers in the Muslim ‘East.’ Smith also will talk about the historical impact of these Muslim thinkers.
