MEDIA ADVISORY: MU Celebrates a Century of Coming Home

WHAT:  The Mizzou Alumni Association invites the Columbia community to participate in the 100th Homecoming celebration this weekend. A new addition to the celebration this year is the alumni association’s inaugural Homecoming Headquarters, where visitors can pick up information, buy Homecoming merchandise, socialize with alumni and friends, and take hourly campus tours. Traditional Homecoming activities include Campus Decorations, a Mizzou Spirit Rally with Marching Mizzou and MU Spirit Squads, a free pancake breakfast, and the 100th anniversary Homecoming Parade.

WHO:  University of Missouri students, alumni and the public.

Friday, Oct. 14
10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Homecoming Headquarters, Reynolds Alumni Center on the corner of Tiger Avenue and Conley Avenue.

6-10 p.m.
Campus Decorations, Greek Town

7:30 p.m.
Mizzou Spirit Rally, corner of Richmond and Burnam

Saturday, Oct. 15
8 a.m.
Brewer Breakfast, MU Recreation Center

8:30 a.m.
100th anniversary Homecoming Parade starts on campus and winds through downtown Columbia. For the parade route and live streaming video beginning at 8:30 a.m., visit: http://mizzou.com/homecoming.

10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Romp, Chomp and Stomp tailgate, Tiger Plaza. Tickets cost $10 for adults and admission is free for children 10 years and younger.

1 p.m.
Tiger football game against Iowa State, Memorial Stadium. Single game tickets are on sale at mutigers.com or 1-800-CAT-PAWS.
