MEDIA ADVISORY: Mizzou hosts grand opening of student-run Kaldi’s Coffee location

WHAT: The University of Missouri’s Trulaske College of Business will host the grand opening of a new student-run Kaldi’s Coffee location in Cornell Hall, as well as a sneak peek and interview opportunity for media. The coffee shop will be operated by students at the Trulaske College of Business as part of their classwork, providing them with a unique, real-world educational experience.

The owners of Kaldi’s Coffee will serve Trulaske Dean Ajay Vinzé the shop’s first official cup of coffee.

WHO: Speakers include:

  • Tricia Zimmer Ferguson, co-owner of Kaldi’s Coffee and Trulaske alumna.
  • Josh Ferguson, co-owner of Kaldi’s Coffee and MU alumnus.
  • Ajay Vinzé, dean of the Trulaske College of Business

WHEN: A sneak peek and opportunity for interviews for media only will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1. Grand opening with remarks from speakers at 10:00 a.m. The full schedule is as follows:

9:15 a.m.: Speakers available for media interviews in second floor atrium, across from lobby.

9:30 a.m.: Kaldi’s Coffee co-owners Tricia and Josh Ferguson perform a barista demonstration inside the shop and serve Dean Vinzé the shop’s first official cup of coffee.

10:00 a.m.: Brief remarks by Dean Vinzé, Tricia Zimmer Ferguson and Josh Ferguson.

WHERE: Cornell Hall, Trulaske College of Business, 700 Tiger Ave.
