COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri will be in full closure tomorrow, Feb. 26. All classes, exams and events are canceled, and only employees that are considered “situationally critical” are required to be on campus, according to Human Resources Policy 217. The policy can be accessed at:

University officials cite the potential for hazardous weather conditions and the advisories from city and state officials as considerations for the closure. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) released a “No Travel Advisory” earlier today:

“Safety is our No. 1 priority,” MU Chancellor Brady Deaton said. “We are indebted to those who continue working during this time to keep our campus safe, serve our more than 7,000 residential students, and care for patients in our hospitals and clinics as well as animals in our research facilities.”

Gary Ward, associate vice chancellor—campus facilities, has requested that all staff and students who do not need to be on the roads stay inside so that crews may clear the university’s roads and sidewalks as soon as possible.

An announcement regarding classes and/or campus closure for Wednesday will be made Tuesday. Please visit for updated information.

Ellis Library will be open today until 10 p.m. However, some services, including branch libraries, may be limited tonight. For more details, please visit The MU Student Center will remain open.
