MEDIA ADVISORY: Expert to Speak at MU on Corporations’ Social and Environmental Responsibilities

WHAT:  In recent years, corporations focused on the triple bottom line: people, planet and profit. As part of the Margaret Mangel Lectureship Series at the University of Missouri, Lewis Perkins, an expert on corporate responsibility, will present, “Sustainability, Design, Innovation and Insight: How Our World is Rapidly Creating Social and Environmental Solutions.”

Perkins is the founder of New House Consulting, a company that helps corporations improve their social and environmental responsibility. Previously, he was the director of sustainable strategies for Mohawk Carpet, the world’s largest carpeting manufacturer. He has worked with Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability, Global Green USA, Sprint, Home Depot, Easter Seals, and Susan G. Komen.  Perkins also is involved with the Captain Planet Foundation, helping to advance children’s environmental knowledge.

The symposium is sponsored by the Margaret Mangel Lectureship Series and the Department of Textile and Apparel Management in the College of Human Environmental Sciences.
