MEDIA ADVISORY: MU and Missouri Community Colleges to Honor Mutual Alumni

WHAT: The University of Missouri and the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) will honor the individual achievements and various pathways to the success of their mutual alumni, who graduated from Missouri community colleges and, later, MU, during a luncheon.
Alumni will share their personal testimonies about how MU and Missouri community colleges provided access to the Missouri higher education system and led them to successful careers and has enabled Missouri communities to have a better quality of life through their personal leadership.
WHO: More than 30 alumni will be recognized at the luncheon. They will be introduced by their respective community college presidents and escorted by the dean of the MU school or college from which they graduated. Nearly each of the MU colleges and schools will be represented by returning alumni.
Jim Kellerman, CEO and president of Missouri Community College Association, and Todd McCubbin, MU assistant vice chancellor for alumni relations, will be the masters of ceremony for the luncheon.
Speakers include:
- Gary Forsee, president of the University of Missouri System;
- Brian Foster, MU provost;
- Marcia Pfeiffer, chairman of MCCA Presidents and Chancellors Council and president of the Florissant Valley Campus of St. Louis Community College

WHEN: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14.
NOTE: A pre-lunch reception for alumni will take place from 11-11:30 a.m. During this time, alumni will be available for interviews.
