MEDIA ADVISORY: MU Dialogue Series to Explore Sustainable Health

WHAT: The University of Missouri will host a lecture and discussion on the Copenhagen Climate Conference as a part of the Dialogues on Science and Public Policy series, offered in conjunction with an Honors College course. Mark Cowell and Mike Urban, professors of geography at the University of Missouri, both attended the conference and will lead the lecture and discussion.
This is the first discussion of the six part series, “Sustainable Health: Energy and Food – what we eat, drink and breathe,” exploring the intersection of prominent issues in science and public policy relating to sustainable health. Other dialogues will include “Generating Energy and Achieving Energy Efficiency at MU,” to be held Feb. 15, and “Protecting the Water Supply for Columbia,” to be held March 1.
WHO: Discussions will include students, researchers and policy makers. Members of the public are invited to attend and participate in the discussions.
