MEDIA ADVISORY:MU to Host Nutrition and Exercise Research Week Events

WHAT: The University of Missouri Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology in the College of Human Environmental Sciences will host a series of events to celebrate Nutrition and Exercise Research Week. Events will include a nutrition and exercise banquet, workshops and two featured speakers.

The featured speakers will present their lectures on Thursday, April 8.

Catrine Tudor-Locke, associate professor and director of the Walking Behavior Laboratory at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, will present, “Pedometers to Measure Physical Activity in Young People.”

Theresa Nicklas, professor of pediatrics at the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Agricultural Research Service Children’s Nutrition Research Center at the Baylor College of Medicine will present, “Getting a Handle on Childhood Obesity: What We Know and What We Don’t Know.”

WHO: Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
