MEDIA ADVISORY: MU iPad conference explores consumer demand

WHAT: The advent of iPads and other media tablets has been a game-changer for magazines and the entire publishing industry. In the midst of this digital upheaval, the University of Missouri is hosting iPads: The Creative Process In Process.” The conference will bring together magazine executives to explore how to adapt and generate original content for the ground-breaking device; analysts predict that more than 30 million iPads will be sold this year.

WHO: Presenters at the conference include innovative editors, designers, tech and visual leaders from National Geographic, ESPN, Wired, Popular Science, Better Homes & Gardens and Men’s Health. Roger Fidler, program director for digital publishing at the MU Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute, and Regina McCombs, an online and multimedia expert at the Poynter Institute, will end the seminar with an overview of the iPad industry.
