MEDIA ADVISORY: Cosmic Conversations to feature MU Physicist
Discussion will center on the Earth and moon system and the laws of physics

WHAT: The April installment of the Cosmic Conversations lecture series features Giovanni Vignale, Curators Professor of Physics at the University of Missouri. Vignale will discuss “The Distance of the Moon: A physicist’s improvisation on the Earth-Moon system, love, and the laws of physics.” After the lecture, the public is invited to view the constellations from the Laws Observatory.
The Cosmic Conversations lecture series is hosted by the MU Department of Physics and Astronomy, the Laws Observatory and the Central Missouri Astronomical Association.
WHO: Vignale is the Curators Professor of Physics at the University of Missouri. Vignale recently published The Beautiful Invisible, a book that relates physics to the creativity of artists.
WHERE: Room 120, Physics Building, MU Campus
Laws Observatory is located on the fifth floor of the Physics Building.
