MEDIA ADVISORY: “Dying Stars” Discussion Kicks off MU “Cosmic Conversations” lecture series

WHAT: Planetary nebulae is the topic that will kick off this year’s “Cosmic Conversations” lecture. Angela Speck, an MU professor of physics and astronomy, will discuss the beauty of stellar death.
The University of Missouri Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Arts and Science and the Central Missouri Astronomical Association host an annual lecture series, “Cosmic Conversations.”
Lectures will take place on the first Wednesday of each month. Laws Observatory, an observatory deck on the fifth floor of the physics building, will be open after each lecture to view the stars.
