MEDIA ADVISORY: MU and KU Face Off in Fifth Annual Virtual Food Drive for Kansas City Area Food Bank

Two other MU events to take place in Kansas City during Thanksgiving break

WHAT: The University of Missouri and the University of Kansas have competed the last four years donating food to Harvesters Community Food Network in Kansas City. MU has won the last four years and has currently raised more than $7,200 worth of food. Donations can be made online at http://www.borderhungershowdown.harvesters.org and are accepted until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.

The Mizzou Alumni Association (MAA) also is sponsoring two events in Kansas City leading up to the Border Showdown football game between MU and KU on Nov. 26. The Tiger Club of Kansas City will host a Friday night pep rally the night before the big game. Fans can join MU Athletic Director Mike Alden and former MU football players Tony Temple and Corby Jones as Kansas City radio host, Steven St. John, hosts the rally. This event is free and open to the public.

Before the big game, fans and members of the MAA can attend the Border Showdown Tailgate at the Founder’s Club in Arrowhead Field. The tailgate will feature a catered buffet and multiple televisions. The cost for the event is $25 for MAA members and $35 for non-members. Children 10 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
