MEDIA ADVISORY: MU to Host Events Throughout National Eating Disorders Awareness Week

WHAT:
The University of Missouri Counseling Center, Women’s Center and Love Your Body Committee will host several events during the 25th annual National Eating Disorders Awareness Week. The purpose of this week is to raise awareness of eating disorders.
Some events include “Operation Beautiful,” an event where the public can post positive messages on the mirrors of public restrooms in the MU Student Union and Student Center restrooms; a public screening of the film “Beauty Mark,” which focuses on the cultural and psychological influences involved with body image, eating disorders and excessive exercise; and a free screening for eating disorders. A discussion will be held after the film. All events will be held on the MU campus.

The free screening for eating disorders will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 29, in the Women’s Center, located in the MU Student Center, Room G108.
