MEDIA ADVISORY: MU School of Health Professions Continues Conversation Series with Discussion about Birth Outcomes

WHO: Jack Turman, a professor and program director of physical therapy education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will discuss how researchers at the University of Nebraska are working on promoting healthy brain and behavior development in newborns. His discussion, “The Connections Project: A Community – University Partnership to Improve Birth and Infant Outcomes in Nebraska’s African American Community,” also will discuss how similar approaches could be implemented at the University of Missouri and throughout the state.

WHAT: Turman’s discussion is the part of the MU School of Health Profession’s new Scholarship and Discovery Conversation Series. The goal of the conversation series is to bring campus and community members together to engage in compelling conversations focused on solving community health challenges.
