MEDIA ADVISORY: MU to Make Major Gift Announcement at Chancellor’s Concert

WHAT: A major announcement regarding a gift to the University of Missouri during the annual Chancellor’s Concert. This gift will enhance the MU School of Music’s ability to promote the creation and composition of new music as well as support graduate and undergraduate scholarships and educational opportunities.
The Chancellor’s Concert is a showcase of the MU School of Music’s top ensembles, and will feature the world premiere of the 2013 Sinquefield Prizewinning composition “Missouri”, which was composed by MU graduate student David Witter and will be performed by the University Philharmonic.

- Brady Deaton, MU chancellor
- Michael O’Brien, dean of the MU College of Arts and Science
- Robert Shay, director of the MU School of Music
- Donor representative
Performing MU ensembles include:
- University Singers
- Concert Jazz Band
- University Wind Ensemble
- Show-Me Opera
- University Philharmonic
