MEDIA ADVISORY: Architecture Expert to Discuss the Importance of Research and Design at MU

WHAT:
Recognized as a top expert in architectural design, Brian Sinclair, professor at University of Calgary, will visit MU to discuss the escalating challenges for designers today. Sinclair’s lecture, “Pursuing Design + Research: Creativity, Diversity and Sustainability in a Complex Global Ethos” will address problems architecture and design professionals currently face including depleting resources, rapid urbanization and growing pressures to act responsibly. Sinclair proposes that appropriate solutions to these problems require not only creativity and innovation but also informed decision-making.

Sinclair received his doctoral degree from the University of Missouri where his studies focused on innovative holistic design and planning framework to improve the quality of life for some of the world’s poorest people.
