MEDIA ADVISORY: MU to Recognize Faculty, Staff and Student Entrepreneurs
May 1st, 2014
WHAT: The University of Missouri is hosting a recognition event to honor MU inventors who have experienced entrepreneurial success in the past year. MU inventors whose research resulted in issued US patents, or royalties from commercialization success, will be recognized.
“Economic development is an important component of MU’s mission,” said Steve Wyatt, MU vice provost for economic development. “This event will recognize MU inventors who, as a direct result of their research, are creating impact through their contributions. This is an inaugural event, and the expectation is that in future years, we’ll broaden our recognitions to encompass more of the economic development contributions by faculty, staff and students. “
