CALENDAR ITEM: Mizzou Advantage to Host Documentary Film and Journalism Symposium

WHAT: Mizzou Advantage will host its fourth annual symposium, “Based on a True Story: The Intersection of Documentary Film and Journalism.” An interdisciplinary group of scholars at the University of Missouri will be partnering again with the True/False Film Fest to continue discussions about documentary film. The symposium will include film screenings and discussions with filmmakers, journalists and film critics about telling true stories in film and journalism.

Sponsors include the Missouri Humanities Council, the Jonathan B. Murray Center for Documentary Journalism, True/False Film Fest, the Chancellor’s Distinguished Visitors Program, the Lee Hills Chair in Free Press Studies and Global Journalist.

WHO: Open to the public. MU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
