WHAT: The Monroe-Paine Distinguished Lecture in Public Affairs.

WHO: Robert Putnam, Peter and Isabel Malkin Professor of Public Policy at Harvard University, will present a lecture titled “Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis.” He will hold a book signing after the lecture. The title of Putnam’s new book is the same as the lecture.

Putnam is a member of the National Academy of Science and has been awarded numerous scholarly honors, including the Skytte Prize and the National Humanities Medal. He has written 14 books, some of which are among the most cited publications in the social sciences in the last half century. Putnam also has served as a consultant for the last three American presidents, multiple heads of state throughout the globe, and hundreds of grassroots leaders and activists in many countries.
