CALENDAR ITEM: Black Studies Fall Conference to Focus on Disciplines and Perspectives of Black Life

WHAT:  The 2015 Black Studies Fall Conference at the University of Missouri will focus on the status of Black life from various disciplines and perspectives. The theme of the conference is “Black Life: Transdisciplinary/Intergenerational Conversations.”

WHO:  The all-day conference features panels offering perspectives from students, community activists and faculty and is sponsored by the Department of Black Studies in the MU College of Arts and Science. The central mission of Black Studies is to prepare students to critically understand, conduct research and interpret the complex histories, societies and cultures of people of African descent.

WHEN:  9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22

WHERE: Memorial Union, N201/202, Mark Twain Ballroom
