Calendar Item: MU Partners with the National Science Foundation to Host Dinosaurs and Cavemen Science Expo

WHAT:  Sixty-five million years ago, 75 percent of the plants and animals inhabiting the earth became extinct; this event became known as the K-T extinction. The most recognized group to become extinct was the non-avian dinosaur. This weekend, the Integrative Anatomy and Paleobiology Groups at MU are hosting the fourth annual Dinosaurs and Cavemen Science Expo, sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

The expo will feature avian, or “live” dinosaurs, fossils, meteorites and asteroids, moon dust and a planetarium movie depicting the K-T and Ice Age extinctions. Raptor Rehab and the MU School of Natural Resources will have living dinosaurs. Earth’s Wild Ride will be shown every 45 minutes in the Columbia Public School Planetarium.
