March 12th, 2016
By Molly Peterson
WHAT: Sixty-five million years ago, 75 percent of the plants and animals inhabiting the earth became extinct; this event became known as the K-T extinction. The most recognized group to become extinct was the non-avian dinosaur. The expo will feature avian, or “live” dinosaurs, fossils, meteorites and asteroids, moon dust and a planetarium movie depicting the K-T and Ice Age extinctions. Raptor Rehab and the MU School of Natural Resources will have living dinosaurs. Earth’s Wild Ride will be shown every 45 minutes in the Columbia Public School Planetarium.
