“Creating a Better Mizzou” Project Hosts Chair of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force

WHAT: As part of the “Creating a Better Mizzou” project, representatives of the University of Missouri System’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) task force, including DEI Task Force Chair David Mitchell, will meet with MU faculty, staff, students and members of the community to discuss the role and structure of the UM System and the task force.
During his presentation, “Understanding System Leadership,” Mitchell will invite the audience to participate actively as the task force continues its work.

NOTE: The DEI task force is one of eight Board of Curators’ initiatives. The purpose of the DEI task force is to examine critically in detail the UM System and explore existing policies, programs and practices.
The DEI task force is charged with developing both short- and long-term recommendations for diversity, inclusion and equity for the UM System based on an inventory and audit of current programs, policies and practices. The ultimate goal is to provide the newly hired UM System Chief Diversity Officer with in-depth information that will impact the institution immediately.
