MEDIA ADVISORY: University of Missouri to Hold 89th Tap Day Ceremony

WHAT: The University of Missouri will hold the 89th annual Tap Day ceremony on Friday, April 22. Prior to the ceremony, students are “tapped” into one of the university’s six secret societies for their commitment to service, leadership and the Mizzou community.
The names of the inductees remain anonymous throughout the application, selection and initiation process, but are revealed to their family and friends as part of the Tap Day ceremony. In addition, many of the secret societies will “honorary tap” a faculty or staff member whom they feel has significantly contributed to the experience of students at MU.
WHO: The event is free and open to the MU community. In addition, members of QEBH, Mystical Seven, LSV, Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board and the Rollins Society are invited to attend.
