Calendar Item: MU to Host Ninth Annual Distinguished Lecture on Religion and Public Life, Death-Qualifying the Jury, Constituting the People

WHAT: The MU Department of Religious Studies will host the ninth annual Distinguished Lecture on Religion and Public Life on April 6. Guest speaker, Winnifred Fallers Sullivan, professor and chairman of the Department of Religious Studies and Affiliated Professor of Law in the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University, will present, “Death-Qualifying the Jury, Constituting the People.” The lecture will explore jurors, as representatives of the people required to make decisions, and how they are sometimes forced to establish a temporary church-state for the purposes of the case they are hearing.

WHO: The lecture is free and open to the public

WHERE: Jesse Wrench Auditorium, Memorial Union, MU campus

WHEN: 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 6
