MEDIA ADVISORY: Mizzou Astronomer Angela Speck to be Featured on NASA Science Panel

Event will be live-streamed; local reporters’ questions encouraged

WHAT:
For the first time in 99 years, a total solar eclipse will cross the entire nation on Aug. 21, 2017. Representatives from NASA, other federal agencies and science organizations will provide important viewing safety, travel and science information during briefings at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

The event will air live on NASA Television and stream on the agency’s website. Local reporters’ questions are encouraged.

Angela Speck, professor of astrophysics and director of astronomy in the MU College of Arts and Science, will be featured during the science briefing.
