MEDIA ADVISORY: Grand Opening for the Thompson Center Research and Training Facility
September 8th, 2017
WHAT: The University of Missouri Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders will open a new research and training facility in Columbia. This facility will provide space for Thompson Center experts to instruct parents, teachers, health care providers and those in the general community who interact with individuals on the autism spectrum. The new building also will provide valuable space for innovative research on the causes and treatment of autism. The grand opening will feature:
- Remarks from Alexander Cartwright, MU Chancellor; Garnett Stokes, MU Provost; and Stephen Kanne, Executive Director of the Thompson Center
- Building tours
- Research and training presentations
- Autism experts
- Activities for children
- A raffle to win Cards vs. Cubs and Royals tickets
WHO: Everyone is welcome.
