WHAT: The University of Missouri Dalton Cardiovascular Center will host David I. Attwell, a fellow of the Royal Society U.K. and a fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, U.K., who will present the Franklin Endowed Lecture, “Control of Cerebral and Cardiac Blood Flow at the Capillary Level by Pericytes in Health and Disease.”
Attwell is an internationally recognized neuroscientist trained in physics and physiology. He is a professor in the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology at the University College London and his research focuses on neuron-glial interactions and brain energy supply.
Named for former director of the Dalton Cardiovascular Research Center and biophysicist Dean Franklin, the Franklin Endowed Lecture commemorates his many contributions to cardiovascular science by highlighting new innovations and research in the field.
