MEDIA ADVISORY: Mizzou encourages students to spring into campus involvement during Welcome Week

WHAT: University of Missouri officials will welcome students with several Welcome Week events to kick off the spring semester, including the Involvement Fair and #MizzouMade Day.

Involvement Week Kick-off
8 a.m.–1 p.m.
MU Student Center
The Office of Student Engagement and Involvement Ambassadors will welcome MU students back for the spring semester with coffee, cookies and the chance to win free prizes.
Wednesday, Jan. 23
Culture and Cuisine: Cultural Association of India
11 a.m.–1 p.m.
MU Student Center
The Cultural Association of India will host a social event where students can learn about Indian culture and try traditional Indian cuisine.
MU Celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.
7-8:30 p.m.
Jesse Auditorium
Activist Bree Newsome, known for removing the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House, is the featured speaker for this event. Free tickets are available at the Missouri Theater box office. The Jesse Auditorium box office will have tickets and opens 30 minutes before the event begins.
Thursday, Jan. 24
Involvement Fair 2019
1–4 p.m.
Main Floor, MU Student Center
Students will have the opportunity to speak with an involvement ambassador and visit with some of the hundreds of student organizations on campus.
Friday, Jan. 25
#MizzouMade Day
University of Missouri students, parents, family, staff, faculty, fans and alumni are encouraged to wear their favorite MU organization’s gear throughout the day. This might be a student organization T-shirt, an MU sport team’s gear, or anything else that demonstrates passion for Mizzou. Everyone is encouraged to share pictures on social media using the hashtag “#MizzouMade”.
