MEDIA ADVISORY: MU Center for Body Image Research and Policy to host inaugural lecture with renowned activist, author

WHAT: The Center for Body Image Research and Policy at the University of Missouri will host “Lose Hate, Not Weight: An Intersectional Feminist Approach to Diet Culture,” a lecture by Virgie Tovar, a celebrated author, activist and expert on fat discrimination and body image. Tovar will examine modern-day dieting culture to shed light on this powerful topic.

The Center for Body Image Research and Policy is an interdisciplinary research center housed in the MU College of Human Environmental Sciences. The center is built around the goal to improve body image, health and wellness for individuals, families and communities.
