More than 850 Mizzou students, alumni to hold day of service, volunteering throughout Columbia

WHAT:          

On Saturday, April 13, more than 850 University of Missouri students, alumni, faculty and staff will spend the day volunteering throughout Columbia.

Now in its 15th year, Caring for Columbia is the largest student-led day of service at Mizzou. Volunteers from the Mizzou community will serve at 88 locations, including 48 community organizations and 40 individual homes.

During the event, volunteers and the women’s volleyball and basketball teams, will hold a Field Day, a fun and free morning of games for children.

WHO:            

United Way President Andrew Grabau will be the opening speaker.

WHEN:

Saturday, April 13

8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Event will begin at 8 a.m., and Grabau will speak at 8:30 a.m.

Field Day begins at 10 a.m.

Kuhlman Court, MU campus

• The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri – 2101 Vandiver Dr.
• Central Missouri Humane Society – 616 Big Bear Blvd, Columbia, Mo.
• Columbia parks and trails

Field Day will be held on Stankowski Field.
