MEDIA ADVISORY:Ice Cream! Admissions! and Agriculture! Oh My!

“Mizzou Central” showcases university research, services and educational resources at Missouri State Fair

WHAT: Each year, representatives from several University of Missouri departments showcase their displays and demonstrations at the Missouri State Fair in “Mizzou Central,” a nearly 10,000-square-foot exhibition hall. An average 60,000 people visit MU’s displays each year.

Mizzou Central features a fully functional ice cream parlor, informational videos, exhibitors from across campus and free entertainment.

WHO: Departments participating in Mizzou Central include:

Buck’s Ice Cream, MU Bookstore, MU Admissions Office, University of Missouri Extension & Extension Council, 4-H, College of Human Environmental Sciences, Tiger Garden, College of Veterinary Medicine, Frank L. Mitchell Trauma Center, MU Health Care, School of Medicine, MU Department of Dermatology, the College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR), the College of Arts & Sciences, USDA Agriculture Research Station, Bradford Research Farm, CV Riley Entomological Society, MU Meteorology Club & Storm Chase Team, NASA Education Program, and the MU Thompson Center for Autism and Neurological Disorders.
