MEDIA ADVISORY:MU Hosts Kick-Off Reception for New Mizzou Advantage Facilitators, Grant Winners

WHAT: A reception to meet the new facilitators and education coordinator for Mizzou Advantage and the grant winners.

WHO: The event is free and open to the public. University of Missouri Chancellor Brady Deaton, MU Provost Brian Foster, faculty representing the winning proposals, the five Mizzou Advantage facilitators and the Mizzou Advantage education coordinator will attend the reception.

WHEN: 4 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 11

WHERE: Ballroom, Reynolds Alumni Center

NOTE: The purpose of Mizzou Advantage is to increase MU’s visibility and stature in higher education locally, statewide, nationally and around the world. To create the program, MU faculty, students and alumni identified the top five competitive assets at MU — Food for the Future; Media of the Future; One Health, One Medicine: The Convergence of Human and Animal Health; Sustainable Energy; and Understanding and Managing Disruptive and Transformational Technologies.

Projects related to each competitive asset will be driven by a network of collaborators and will result in more grants and opportunities to recruit prominent scholars and scientists.
