MEDIA ADVISORY: Freedom by Fashion Raises Funds to End Human Trafficking

WHAT:  The Freedom by Fashion fundraiser will feature a fashion show of fair-trade clothing made by local designers and sold by Columbia vendors, including Blackberry Exchange, Mustard Seed Fair Trade and Global Market.

Sponsored by MU Stop Traffic and the Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition, the event also will include a silent auction and raffle. Proceeds will go toward ending human trafficking and helping victims.

Columbia restaurants Broadway Brewery, Red and Moe, and Sycamore will serve appetizers made from locally grown food.

WHO:  MU Stop Traffic is a student group that works to eradicate human trafficking.

The Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition is an organization dedicated to ending the modern-day slave trade.

WHEN:  5-8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11
