MEDIA ADVISORY: MU to Announce Coulter Foundation Grant Recipients

WHAT :
University of Missouri officials will host an awards ceremony to announce recipients of six grants to fund translational research projects. The grants, provided through a $5 million partnership between MU and the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation, will be awarded to teams of College of Engineering and School of Medicine faculty.
WHO: Speakers include:
- MU Chancellor Brady Deaton
- Rob Duncan, vice chancellor for research at MU
- Steve O’Connor, CEO of ImpeDx Diagnostics, a health care technology startup firm
- James Thompson, dean of the MU College of Engineering
- Les Hall, interim dean of the MU School of Medicine

NOTE:
In 2011, the Coulter Foundation selected the University of Missouri as one of 15 academic institutions in the country and the only university in Missouri to establish a Coulter Translational Partnership Program. The program provides bridge funding to help translate scientific discoveries into medical products and services that will improve health by addressing unmet clinical needs.
