MEDIA ADVISORY: Mizzou Homecoming Kicks Off with Day of Service

WHAT: The 100th anniversary of homecoming at the University of Missouri begins with a day of service. Students and alumni will have the opportunity to participate in a campus clean-up day, which will include cleaning the bus stops on Rollins Street, clearing bulletin boards around campus, and weeding flower beds.
Members of MU regional alumni chapters also will participate in service projects in their communities. MU has more than 100 regional alumni chapters across the nation.
“Community service has always been an important cornerstone of the Homecoming celebration,” said Todd McCubbin, executive director of the MU Alumni Association. “Hundreds of students will help prepare campus for visitors at the inaugural day of service this Saturday. Tigers around the country are also participating by giving back in their local communities in the name of Mizzou.”
