CALENDER EVENT: Fans Encouraged to Wear Black and Gold to Support MU on College Colors Day

WHAT:
MU fans everywhere are invited to wear black and gold to support the University of Missouri for the eighth annual College Colors Day. College Colors Day promotes the traditions and spirit of all universities. Fans are encouraged to don Mizzou gear and plan a “black and gold” event, such as an office tailgate lunch or best-dressed fan contest.
This year, College Colors Day has added an online competition through ESPN.com. Fans can “Pledge Their Allegiance” to their school by visiting ESPN.com/collegecolorsday and voting for their favorite school while earning a chance to win prizes. The contest will run through Friday, Aug. 31, and the school that receives the most votes will be declared “Winner of the College Colors Day Spirit Cup” and awarded $10,000 for its general scholarship fund.

College Colors Day coincides with the start of the fall semester and the kick-off of MU intercollegiate athletics. The event’s purpose is to advocate for higher education through increased public awareness and to celebrate the achievements of colleges and universities.
