MEDIA ADVISORY: Autism Experts to Present Research and Best Practices at MU Thompson Center Autism Conference

WHAT: The University of Missouri’s Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders will host its 9th Annual Autism Conference.
Autism experts from around the country will join leading autism providers and researchers from MU’s Thompson Center to present the latest research advancements and best practices in caring for patients with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Keynote speakers will address trends, rates and environmental risks, as well as the neuroscience behind effective treatments. Workshop presenters will cover a range of topics including treatment and interventions, behavior analysis, education and transition to adulthood.
Media are invited to attend presentations as well as the conference reception on Monday, Oct. 6, at 5 p.m.
WHEN: Monday, Oct. 6, and Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014
WHO: Keynote addresses will be given by Eric Fombonne, director of the Oregon Health &
Sciences University Autism Research Center, and Jacqueline Crawley, professor in
the UC-Davis School of Medicine and the MIND Institute.
Conference presenters include autism experts in medicine, psychology, applied behavior analysis and education from:
