MEDIA ADVISORY: MU Ceremony to Kick Off Renovations at Lafferre Hall

WHAT: Officials will hold a ceremony to launch the renovations of Lafferre Hall, the main building of the MU College of Engineering. On Oct. 16, 2014, Governor Jay Nixon toured Lafferre and approved the state’s issuance of $38.5 million for renovations to the 1935 and 1944 sections of the building; this event will kick off those repairs.

UM System President Tim Wolfe, MU Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin and Tom Lafferre will attend. Other distinguished guests and speakers will include Missouri State Senator Kurt Schaefer, Missouri Speaker of the House John Diehl and Bob Schwartz, interim dean of the College of Engineering.
