COLUMBIA, Mo. ¬— On Saturday, Nov. 24, the Tigers of the University of Missouri will face the Jayhawks of the University of Kansas in what Wall Street Journal writer Adam Thompson called “the oldest major college rivalry west of the Mississippi River.” As the two Big 12 North division leaders prepare for the kickoff at 7 p.m. at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, I will be predicting a Tiger victory in the Border Showdown.
Tiger fans all over the world will be watching or reading about this historic game. I urge all our fans in attendance in person or in spirit to represent Mizzou with pride and respect for our University’s worldwide reputation, for our membership in the distinguished Association of American Universities, for the sportsmanship advocated by our Big 12 Conference, for the great state of Missouri, and for the safety and well-being of all who love the American tradition of college football and the Mizzou Tigers.
As we prepare to gather with friends and family for the Thanksgiving holiday, we have cause to be grateful for the excellence of our University family, for our wonderful student-athletes who will have the eyes of the nation on them Saturday, and for all those who will support us at the game and all the days of the year. Go Tigers!
